What does Funds Transfer mean?

Fund Transfer allows you to transfer funds from your own account to

  1. Your other accounts under your user ID
  2. To other beneficiaries (within IDFC FIRST Bank / outside IDFC FIRST Bank) also known as Third Party Funds Transfer.

Funds Transfer to other Bank can be of 3 types

  • IMPS, also known as IMmediate Payment Service is a real time service which allows customers to transfer Funds from their own account to another Bank account in an electronic manner. This transaction can be done 24 x 7. The beneficiary receives the fund transfers credit instantly.
  • NEFT, also known as National Electronic Funds Transfer allows Bank customers to transfer funds, pay Credit Card bills of other Bank in an electronic manner to other Bank. NEFT follows RBI working calendar.
  • RTGS, also known as Real Time Gross Settlement, is the fastest way to transfer funds in an electronic manner. Transactions are done and payments received in real time.

What are charges of IMPS, NEFT, RTGS ?

There are NO charges for any funds transfer transaction/ transfer types. They are free!

How do I add a beneficiary?

In order to conduct a Third Party Funds Transfer process, a beneficiary needs to be added in order to complete the same.

Steps for Beneficiary Addition

  1. Login to IDFC FIRST Bank Internet Banking.
  2. Select Add Beneficiary under Funds Transfer
  3. Select the type of beneficiary and fill necessary details
  4. Enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number
  5. Notification about beneficiary addition will be sent to your registered mobile number
  6. Beneficiary will be activated after 30 minutes of being successfully added in the account

How do I create User ID and NetBanking Password?

As a customer, you can create a user ID between 6- 10 characters which can be alphanumeric in nature.

Please do select a user ID which is easy to remember and yet personal to you in nature. NetBanking Password should be between 6-15 characters and you can use a combination of characters, alphabets, numbers to create one.

How do I register for Internet Banking?

Steps to register for Internet Banking are as follows

  1. Visit IDFC FIRST Bank website and click on Login
  2. Click on Create Username
  3. Enter UCIC / Customer ID & Mobile number and click on submit
  4. Enter Account Number or Debit Card Number or Loan Account Number
  5. Enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number
  6. Select your User Name and create your own NetBanking Password and click on submit.

How can I retrieve my Username?

Steps to retrieve Username are

  1. Visit IDFC FIRST Bank website and click on Login
  2. Click on Forgot Username
  3. Enter Customer ID & mobile number and click on submit
  4. Enter Account Number or Debit Card details

Your Username will be sent to your registered email id. Notification about retrieval of username will be sent on your registered mobile number.

You will be able to view your username on the screen as well.

Dos and donts of internet banking

Do's

  1. The customer should mandatorily change the User-Id and password assigned by the bank on accessing Internet Banking Services for the first time.
  2. Customer should keep the User-id and password totally confidential and not reveal them to any third party.
  3. Customer should commit the User-id and password to memory and not record them in a written or electronic form
  4. Customer should always check the URL address on the address bar of internet browser. This should begin with "https"; the letter 's' at the end of "https" means 'secured'.
  5. Customer should look for the padlock symbol either in the address bar or the status bar (mostly in the address bar) but not within the web page display area and verify the security certificate by clicking on the padlock.
  6. Customer should - fill in the correct account number of the person to whom the funds are to be transferred; - fill in the correct Card number while making Card payments; - fill in the correct details such as the name of the payee (who may or may not have an account with the Bank), mailing address, amount of the Demand Draft and the city/state where the Demand Draft is payable.
  7. If customer finds his/ her mobile number inactive he should contact his telecom service provider immediately
  8. Customer should regularly view internet banking account history through activity logs available in internet banking application
  9. Customer should install a comprehensive firewall/antivirus/anti-spyware software package on his computer & update the same on a regular basis. These software suites help detect and remove viruses and spyware, that can steal vital information.
  10. If user has to share his mobile & personal computer with anyone else or send it for repair/maintenance, he should: - Clear the browsing history - Clear cache and temporary files stored in the memory as they may contain account numbers and other sensitive information
  11. Customer should use the virtual keyboard (VKB) wherever available to prevent key-logger compromises as such malware can track keystrokes in a physical keyboard
  12. Customer should always clear his browser cache after each session
  13. Customer should register wherever necessary for multi-factor authentication.
  14. Customer should disable the “Auto Complete” function on his browser: If customer is using Internet Explorer, he should turn off the ‘Auto Complete’ function on his browser to prevent the system from remembering Passwords. To Disable the “Auto Complete” function: - Open Internet Explorer. Select Tools->Internet Options->Content (Tab) - Click on Settings Button under Auto Complete section - De-Select User Names and passwords on forms check box - Click on “OK”
  15. Customer should log off completely from his online banking website, close the browser and log off PC, when not in use.
  16. Customer should register for SMS alerts to keep track of banking transactions
  17. Customer should ensure that he uses reputed endpoint security for his system and keep it updated to prevent any infection. In case the system is infected he should clean it up before using internet banking.

Dont's

  1. The customer should not attempt or permit others to attempt accessing the account information stored in the computers and computer networks of the bank through any means other than the Internet Banking Services.
  2. Customer should not use link in an email message to log in. For logging in internet banking customer should use official website.
  3. Customer should not let any unauthorized person have access to his computer or leave the computer unattended while using Internet Banking Services.
  4. Customer should not disclose/reveal his/her personal or confidential information to anyone over email/SMS/phone call.
  5. Customer should not enter login or other sensitive information in any pop up window.
  6. Customer should avoid accessing Internet banking accounts from cyber cafes or shared PCs.
  7. Customer should not at any time provide to any person, with any details of the accounts held by him with the Bank including, IPIN, account number, Card numbers and PIN/ TIN / m-PIN which may be assigned to customer by the Bank from time to time.
  8. Customers should also never use the ‘remember password’ feature provided by browsers to save their net banking passwords.
  9. Customer should never use the same user ID and password for financial accounts of other sites.
  10. Customer should not use mobile devices to store User ID, password and other account related sensitive details.
  11. Customer should not open attachment or install free software from unknown sources, this may expose his computer and information on it to unauthorized access
  12. Customer should not leave his internet banking session unattended. He should always logout completely. Customer should make sure: a) Application is logged out by clicking on logout button. b) All the browser windows are closed
  13. Customer should avoid using public PCs for accessing Internet Banking. If public PCs are used, he should ensure he logs out and clears the cache, history of the browser. The browser should also not remember any of the authentication details.

Q. Can billers once added, ever be deleted?
Use the Manage Biller option to delete any biller in its entirety.

A Short & Sweet home loan is an amalgamation of a Home Loan & a Current account. It offers the flexibility of debit & credit transactions in the short & sweet account. The more balance you keep in the account the lesser interest has to be paid.

What is home loan?

Home Loan is offered to individuals who wish to purchase or construct a house. The property is mortgaged to the lender as a security till the repayment of the loan. The bank or financial institution will hold the title or deed to the property till the loan has been paid back with the interest due for it.

How can Home Loan be viewed on Internet Banking?

Login to Internet Banking -> Click on Loans Tab -> Click Home -> Click Summary

Can I permanently block a Debit card which is temporarily blocked?

No, you will have to first unblock the card using Internet Banking and then follow the procedure to block it permanently. Or you can call our Banker On Call on 1800-419-4332 to get the card blocked.

Can I change my cash withdrawal and purchase limits?

Yes, you can change the limits both international and domestic, but the same has to be within the maximum limit available.

Can I switch on/off my international usage using Internet Banking?

Yes, you can switch on/off your international usage online at any time.

Can I set my entire ATM withdrawal or purchase limit for domestic usage only?

Yes.

Can I set my entire ATM withdrawal or purchase limit for international usage only?

Yes

I changed my limits with the help of the slider but still the limits are not updated?

Please click on update limit button once you set your desired limits. This activates your selection instantly

I have switched off my international limit but I am not able to set my domestic limit to maximum?

In this case, please switch on your international limit and set it to zero and then set the domestic limit to maximum limit. Click on update limit post this so that the limits will be effective. After doing this please switch off your international limit.

Can I switch off my international usage only for ATM withdrawal or purchase?

No, once the international usage Is switched off or on, it will be effective for both purchase as well as ATM withdrawal transactions.

How can Personal Loan be viewed on Internet Banking?

Login to Internet Banking -> Click on Loans Tab -> Click Personal -> Click Summary You can view all the Loans linked to your account. Apply Now!

How can Personal Loan be viewed on Internet Banking?

Yes, this facility is available on both Internet Banking and Mobile App.

Can I use my debit card or credit card to add funds?

Currently this facility is available using Net Banking facility of other bank only.

My other bank account is debited, but my IDFC First bank account is not credited yet?

In case of technical failures, basis the existing reconciliation process, the credit will be posted into your account within 3-4 working days.

In case the transaction has been failed by other bank, then the same will be refunded back to you by other bank itself as per their processes.

How long does this take to display the credit into my account?

The credit is real time. The other bank account will be debited and your IDFC First Bank account is credited immediately.

How is this feature beneficial to me?

To transfer funds into your account, you need not go through the trouble of adding beneficiary and to know your IDFC First Bank Account number and IFSC details etc.
Neither you have to issue a cheque or deposit it in your bank.
Simply login to your IDFC First bank account and pull funds instantly. It is seamless and frictionless.

What are the prerequisites /formalities to avail of this service?

All you need is access to your IDFC First Bank’s Mobile App or Internet Banking service in order to avail of this service.
Additionally, you need to have access to NetBanking credentials of other bank so as to online transfer funds.

Does internet banking daily debit limits apply to this?

No. With Add funds feature you can pull funds from any other bank and is a credit into your account. Daily debit limits apply to online debit transactions initiated from your account only.

Can I pull in any amount from other bank?

Minimum transfer in amount is INR 1000 and there is no maximum limit. The limit is directly dependent on the Internet Banking, Mobile Banking Funds transfer limits set of the remitting bank i.e. the Bank from where the funds are being pulled.

What are the charges associated with this feature?

There are no charges associated with this. This a completely free service.

What is this Add funds feature all about?

'Add funds to your account’, allows users to conveniently pull funds for any other bank account and transfer into their own IDFC FIRST Bank savings account.
It is similar to how a person does a E Commerce transaction on Amazon, Flipkart etc when post inputting an amount, they select the Bank name through Payment Gateway (PG) and select the Bank of their choice to complete the transaction

Which mobile number would be updated, will it be for a specific account or will it be for all accounts?

The mobile number would be updated for all accounts of the Customer ID. To change the mobile number for a specific account, kindly visit the nearest branch.

How much time would it take to update the mobile number?

The mobile number would be updated within 48 hours

I want to change my mobile number but I don't have a debit card?

Debit card details are required to update your mobile number with the bank, incase you do not have a debit card, kindly visit the nearest branch to update your mobile number.

Can I change my mobile number online?

Yes, you can login to Internet Banking through Browser to update your mobile number.

What should I do in case there is an unauthorized transaction in my account?
