Our Solutions
Seamlessly transfer money from India into any account. Find out how.
Online Transfer
It is very simple to add your NRE & NRO account as a beneficiary from your existing NRE/NRO account in India or from a resident account of someone from whom you need to receive money. You will need to provide your 11-digit IDFC FIRST Bank account number, your name, the IFSC code - IDFB0040101 (this code will work irrespective of the branch in which you hold an account - when you enter this IFSC code, you may not recognise the branch details that get populated, do not worry, this code will ensure funds are credited to the right account, as long as account number is written correctly). Once the beneficiary is added you can do an NEFT/ RTGS or IMPS depending on what the sending bank permits you and send money from India. We allow all types of credits.
Please note following important restrictions:
• Credit to NRE account is possible only from another NRE account in India. If you try a transfer funds from an NRO or resident account to an NRE account, the transfer will not go through, and funds will be credited back to the remitter.
• Credit to NRO account is possible from NRE, NRO or Resident accounts. Please check with your chartered account before receiving funds from an NRO account of another NRI. Restriction may apply.
Cheque Credit
INR cheques can be credited into your account by depositing a cheque in an IDFC FIRST Bank Branch across the counter or in a cheque drop box. Cheque credit is a traditional way to transfer money from India to your account.
Please note following important restrictions:
• Credit to NRE account is possible only from another NRE account in India. A cheque drawn from an NRE account will normally have "NRE" or "NON RESIDENT EXTERNAL" embossed on the cheque leaf. If this is not mentioned, you will need to provide additional documents to establish the source of funds in NRE. Refer to the section on "Repatriation" for more details. If we are unable to establish source of funds is NRE, we will not credit the cheque to an NRE account.
• Credit to NRO account is possible from NRE, NRO or Resident accounts. Please check with your chartered account before receiving cheques from an NRO account of another NRI. Restriction may apply.
*Cheque credit will normally reflect within 24-48 hours for CTS-2010 compliant cheques. We do not recommend crediting non CTS-2010 cheques into your NRI accounts.
