    In Patient Hospitalization- If it is a planned treatment or an unforeseen emergency and you need to stay in the hospital for more than 24 hours, Aditya Birla Health Insurance will cover expenses like room rent, doctor’s fee, operation theatre expenses, medicines, drugs and other consumables under the policy as per your eligibility. Room options for SI 4 lakhs and above: Shared room, Single private a/c room & any room.

    Pre-hospitalization Medical Expenses- You may incur expenses for consultations or diagnostic tests before your hospitalization, such costs will be covered up to 60 days before your hospitalization, where the hospitalization claim is accepted by the company.

    Post-hospitalization Medical Expenses- You may incur expenses for medicines, diagnostic tests and other such costs will be covered up to 180 days after your discharge from the hospital where the hospitalization claim is accepted by the company.

    Day care Treatment- Get covered for medical expenses incurred on the Insured Person’s day care treatment, up to the specified limits during the policy period following an illness or injury that occurs during the policy period.

    Road Ambulance Cover-  Aditya Birla Health Insurance will cover cost incurred towards transportation by road ambulance to a nearest hospital from the place of occurrence of an Emergency for treatment, where such Emergency occurs during the Policy Period.

    Organ Donor Expenses- Aditya Birla Health Insurance cover the medical expenses up to the specified limits, incurred by or in respect of the organ donor, for an organ transplant Surgery accepted by Aditya Birla Health Insurance solely towards the harvesting of the organ donated.

    Reload of Sum Insured- In case the sum insured with cumulative bonus (if any) is insufficient as a result of previous claims in that policy year, then you get an additional sum insured up to 100% for your health needs resulting out of an illness unrelated to previous claims in that policy year

    AYUSH Cover- Get covered on a reimbursement basis, up to the limits as specified towards the Medical expenses for in-patient hospitalization incurred with respect to the Insured person’s Ayush treatment undergone in any AYUSH Hospital.

    Mental Illness Hospitalization- Aditya Birla Health Insurance will cover the medical expenses incurred by the Insured person up to the specified limits, towards hospitalization of the Insured person specifically for any Mental illnesses.

    Obesity Treatment- The problem of obesity is commonly faced by many. Aditya Birla Health Insurance understands it holds you back from having a healthy physical and mental well-being. Get covered for the related medical expenses as specified in the policy documents if the Insured person is hospitalized for a Bariatric surgery which is medically necessary, on the written advice of a Medical Practitioner.

    Home Treatment Expenses- You can avail treatment expenses at home up to the specified limits for Illnesses / Injuries such as chemotherapy, dengue, gastroenteritis, hepatitis, peritoneal dialysis on a cashless basis. Only to be availed through Aditya Birla Health Insurance’s Network Provider / Empaneled Service Providers providing such facility.

    Second E-Opinion for Major Illness- When it comes to detection of a major illness such a cancer, kidney failure and many more, then a second opinion is always helpful. Aditya Birla Health Insurance understand that and provide you with a second e-opinion through a consortium of domestic and international medical practitioners. This benefit is available on Cashless Facility basis only

    Health Check-up program- Aditya Birla Health Insurance provide a free comprehensive health check-up for each adult once in a policy year customized to the life stage you are in

    Domestic / International Emergency Assistance Services (including Air Ambulance)- We travel on work or sometimes to get away from our busy lives and sometimes we may end up going to places that are remote. In such cases where an adequate medical facility is not available and you need medical help, Aditya Birla Health Insurance will help you reach such a medical facility and then take you back to your home.

    Get covered for emergency medical assistance outside India/within India when Insured person is travelling 150 kms or more away from his/her residential address for a period of less than 90 days.

    OPD Cover- Aditya Birla Health Insurance shall cover costs incurred for  medically required consultations, diagnostic tests and pharmacy expenses which are incurred on an out-patient basis at Aditya Birla Health Insurance’s network providers

    These services can be availed at Aditya Birla Health Insurance’s Network Providers and /Empanelled Service Providers (such as Outpatient clinics or Physicians /Diagnostic centres)) for chronic conditions listed above, on a Cashless basis.

    HealthReturnsTM- Aditya Birla Health Insurance policy rewards you for staying fit and healthy and these rewards are accumulated in the form of HealthReturns. You can start earning HealthReturns by completing the following steps

    2. Start exercising to earn Activ Dayz

    You can use these HealthReturns for something as small as getting medicines for a fever or even for a surgery that is not covered due to a waiting period or exclusion in the policy. Furthermore, you can use HealthReturns for paying your premium from the 1st renewal of the policy.

    Health Assessment- Health Assessment measures MER including BP, BMI HWR and smoking status, Blood Sugar and Total Cholesterol.

    Premium Waiver- Aditya Birla Health understands you can be diagnosed with an unforeseen critical illness during the policy period. It may result in mental and financial stress. To help you sail through these tough times you can avail one policy year premium waiver, for detection of listed illnesses for adults aged 18 years and above. This can be availed only once in the lifetime of the policy.

    Cumulative Bonus- If you have not made any claim in a Policy Year and have successfully renewed the policy with us continuously and without any break, you will be eligible for Cumulative Bonus. You can get up to 50% increase in your Sum Insured without an associated increase in premium, but maximum up to 100% of Sum Insured or up to INR 1Cr.

    Dental Consultation and Investigations- You can avail cashless Dental consultation and investigation services at Aditya Birla Health Insurance network providers or empaneled service providers. This covers comprehensive oral evaluation, oral prophylaxis and cost of x-ray. All three services listed above shall be availed on a single appointment scheduled by Aditya Birla Health Insurance.

    Expert Health Coach- Aditya Birla Health Insurance Expert Health Coach provides guidance on nutrition, fitness, medical counselling and tele consultation with Homeopathy doctor. Mental health counselling includes screening for mental health status and consultation sessions.

    Modern Treatment Methods and Advancement in Technologies- Due to advancement in technologies, covers Modern Treatment methods like Robotic surgeries, oral chemotherapy, stem cell therapy and more as a part of in-patient hospitalization or day care treatments 

    Hospital Cash Benefit- For each day that you get hospitalized, you get an added benefit of a per day allowance with Aditya Birla Health Insurance.A deductible of 24 hours shall apply under this benefit. This benefit shall be payable for a maximum limit of 30 days in a policy year and 10 days for each claim. You can choose the amount of Rs. 500 to Rs.5000 (in multiples of Rs.500) based on your needs. This is an optional cover.

    Personal Accident Cover- Accident and injuries can strike out of the blue and disrupt your life adversely. With Personal Accident cover, you can live your life without worrying about such possibilities. For a small premium, secure yourself and your family from financial implications of fatal accidents. The payout will be as per the Sum Insured. Both Accidental Death and Permanent Total Disablement are covered under Personal Accident Cover. This is an optional cover.

    International Coverage for Major Illnesses- Sometimes for a major illness, under medically necessary treatment you will be advised for an international treatment. Aditya Birla Health Insurance cover planned in-patient hospitalization expenses for 16 major listed illnesses. This benefit is applicable only for Insured Person(s) who are Indian Citizens residing in India and with base sum insured of 10L and above. You can get covered for sum Insured INR 3 Cr and 6 Cr. This is an optional cover.

    Critical Illness Cover- Developing a critical illness poses a greater risk. Besides the physical and emotional stress, a critical illness can drain you financially. Hence having a Critical Illness cover for up to 20 listed critical illnesses helps you overcome financial shortcomings. A short Survival Period is required of 15 days following the initial diagnosis of a critical illness. Initial waiting period of 90 days is applicable. This is an optional cover

  • The minimum age at entry under Activ Health – Platinum Enhanced

    i. Family Floater Policy: 91 days (for dependent child) and 18 years (for adults).

    Dependent Children from age- 91 days to 5 years will be covered only if one adult is covered under family floater Policy.

    ii. Individual Policy: In case of an Individual policy, minimum age at entry is 5 yrs.
  • Maximum age at entry- No Maximum age at entry
  • Relationships covered:

    a) Family Floater Policy: Self & legally wedded spouse, dependent children up to 3 (i.e., natural or legally adopted) between the age 3 months to 25 years.
    b) Individual Policy: Self, legally married spouse as long as they continue to be married, son, daughter, mother, father, brother, sister, mother in-law, father in-law, grandfather, grandmother, grandson, granddaughter, son in-law, daughter in-law, brother in-law, sister in-law, nephew, niece.

Permanent Exclusions#

Hearing Aids, Spectacles or contact lenses including optometric therapy

Treatment for baldness, alopecia, wigs, toupees, and similar treatment

Cosmetic, Aesthetic & reshaping treatments and surgeries

Any illness/ injury/ accident due to abuse of intoxicants

Breach of law with Criminal intent, intentional self-injury

War, Act of foreign enemy, uprising, revolution, insurrection, military or usurped acts 

Claims

Cashless Process:

1. Customer to visit the TPA/ admin desk at hospital and fill the preauthorization form which has been sent to Aditya Birla Health Insurance for approval.

2.Documents gets verified at Aditya Birla Health Insurance

a.     In case of deficiency, additional documents are requested from the hospital. Communication letters gets triggered on registered Email ID.

b.     If documents are not submitted after request for additional documents, repudiation call is made to the customer and rejection letter gets triggered on hospital’s registered Email ID.

c.     If claim is not admissible then the claim gets rejected and the rejection letter gets triggered on hospital’s registered Email ID.

d.     If documents are complete, then claim admissibility is checked. If payable, the claim gets approved and Aditya Birla Health Insurance issues the approval letter to the hospital.

3.Hospital provides the treatment to the patient. Member(s) completes the treatment and get discharged.

4.Proactive discharge call is made to the customer.

Reimbursement process

1.     Documents to be sent to Aditya Birla Health Insurance by Courier/branch/customer portal/ Customer Care centre.

2.     Documents get verified and scanning and registration of the claim gets done in inward department and forwarded to non-medico team for billing process.

3.     Claim gets processed by non-medico team and forwarded to medico team to check admissibility.

4.     Medico team will process the claim and will give their decision based on the available documents (deficiency, approved or repudiate). In case of deficiency, additional documents are requested from the customer. Communication letters gets triggered on the registered Email ID.

a.     Three reminder mails would be triggered for the pending documents at the interval of 10 days, if the documents are not submitted, the claim will be closed on Non-submission of mandatory documents.

5.     If approved, then payment amount gets computed, and the payment is processed.

6.     If repudiated, then the same is conveyed to the customer on his registered contact number and the rejection letter gets triggered on registered Email ID.

Claims Documents

Aditya Birla Health Insurance shall be provided the following necessary information and documentation in respect of all Claims at Your/Insured Person’s expense within 30 days of the Insured Person’s discharge from Hospital:

(i)              Claims for Pre-Hospitalization Medical Expenses and Post-Hospitalization Medical Expenses to be submitted to Aditya Birla Health Insurance within 30 days of the completion of the post Hospitalization treatment.

(ii)             For those claims for which the use of Cashless Facility has been authorised, Aditya Birla Health Insurance will be provided these documents by the Network Provider immediately following the Insured Person’s discharge from Hospital:

a.     Duly signed, stamped and completed Claim Form;

b.     Photo ID & Age Proof;

c.     Copy of claim intimation letter / reference of Claim Intimation Number in the absence of main claim documents);

d.     Copy of the Network Provider’s Registration Certificate / Copy of Form C in case of Hospitalization;

e.     Original Discharge Card / Day Care Summary / Transfer Summary;

f.       Original final Hospital Bill with all original deposit and final payment receipt;

g.     Original invoice with payment receipt and implant stickers for all implants used during surgeries i.e. lens sticker and invoice in cataract Surgery, stent invoice and sticker in Angioplasty Surgery;

h.     All previous consultation papers indicating history and treatment details for current ailment;

i.       All original diagnostic reports (including imaging and laboratory) along with Medical Practitioner’s prescription and invoice / bill receipt from diagnostic centre;

j.       All original medicine / pharmacy bills along with Medical Practitioner’s prescription;

k.     MLC / FIR Copy – in Accidental cases only;

l.       Copy of Death Summary and copy of Death Certificate (in death claims only);

m.    Pre and Post-Operative Imaging reports – in Accidental cases only;

n.     Copy of indoor case papers with nursing sheet detailing medical history of the patient, treatment details, and patient’s progress (if available);

o.     Original invoice for Vaccination and payment receipt;

p.     KYC documents.

q.     Additional documents in case of below covers in case of Multiple Policy claims:

·       Photocopy of entire claim document duly attested by previous Insurer or TPA

·       Original payment receipts for expenses not claimed/settled by previous insurer

·       Discharge voucher/settlement letter by previous insurer. Road Ambulance Cover Photocopy of discharge card.

·       Original Ambulance invoice & paid receipt

(iii)            For acceptance of claims in electronic mode, the documents shall be submitted in such form and manner as may be specified by Aditya Birla Health Insurance.

(iv)           (iv) For the following Claims, please notify the same at Aditya Birla Health Insurance call centre/website/e-mail. Waiting Period#

A.     Initial Waiting Period - 30 Days (not applicable in case of accident)

For section –Personal Accident: No initial waiting period is applicable

For section –Critical Illness: 90 days

B. For Specified Disease or Procedure- 24 months

C. For Pre-Existing Disease- 36 months
