The Income Tax (IT) department has made it mandatory for all citizens to link their Aadhaar with PAN

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is tasked with issuing an Aadhaar card to every Indian citizen. The Aadhaar card contains a unique 12-digit number that identifies citizens and helps verify their records from the government database. Every Indian citizen, regardless of age or gender, must have an Aadhaar number.

You can participate in the free enrollment process if you do not have one. It is hassle-free and requires minimum documents. Once you have your Aadhaar card, you must link it with your PAN (Permanent Account Number) card to ease the tax filing process.
