What are the different limit options I can set for my FIRST Select Debit Card?

With your FIRST Select Debit Card, you can set limits for daily ATM withdrawals and daily purchases.  The maximum limit that you can set is Rs 5,00,000 for daily ATM Withdrawal and Rs 10,00,000 for daily purchases on your FIRST Select Debit Card.

What are the steps to set up the limit for my FIRST Select Debit Card?

You can set limits on your FIRST Select Debit Card by logging in to net banking or mobile application. We have made a quick guide for your reference. You can download it from here

Are there any limit options for a FIRST Select Debit Card issued to a Minor savings’ account?

Yes! FIRST Select Debit Card comes with special limits for minors. Limits issued to Minor savings' account are:

Maximum daily cash withdrawal limit at ATM -  Rs 25,000

Maximum daily purchase limit -  Rs 25,000

By default, only domestic limits will be enabled for Select Debit Cards issued to minors. Customers can set their own limits within the overall limits by logging on to Net banking or through Mobile application.

How do we set the limits for Minor savings’ account?

Minors above 10 years of age can set their limits by logging on to their Net banking or Mobile Banking account.


For minors below 10 years of age, please reach out to your respective branch to get the changes done.

What are the charges on International transactions?

For any international eCom or POS transaction done using FIRST Select Debit card, there will be a 2% markup charge applied.

Would there be any taxes applicable on my International transactions?

All LRS international transactions including withdrawals through ATM, POS or e-commerce transactions done on Foreign Merchants or sites which offer Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) transactions would be subjected to Tax collected at source at applicable rate defined by government of India. What are the special privileges airport lounge access debit cards?

Upon presentation of FIRST Select Debit Card and boarding pass, cardholders can enjoy the following privileges:

  • •  Maximum of 2+2 complimentary access for FIRST Select cardholders every calendar quarter at domestic airports*
    Please note: Your card will be charged a refundable (within 24 hrs) amount of Rs. 2 for each entry at airport lounge.
  • •  Paid access: In addition to the complimentary access -cardholders are also entitled to unrestricted (chargeable) access for himself/herself and for his/her accompanying guests

What are the various food and beverage benefits I can avail?

You can unwind at the airport lounge and indulge in F&B privileges that include

What are the types of insurance benefits available?

The various types of insurance and protection covers that come with FIRST Select Debit Card are:

  • • Personal Accident Insurance cover of Rs. 50,00,000
  • • Air Accident Insurance cover of Rs. 1,50,00,000
  • • Purchase Protection cover of Rs. 1,00,000
  • • Lost Card Liability cover of Rs. 10,00,000

What does Lost Card Liability offer?

With FIRST Select Debit Card you have no liability for unauthorized transactions on Debit Cards on receipt of notification from the card holder.

What are the FIRST Select debit card benefits and eligibility criteria for Personal Card Insurance?

All savings accounts and corporate salary accounts with FIRST Select Debit Card need to meet the following criteria to be eligible for the insurance cover:

  • • Minimum 1 POS* transaction in each month, for previous 3 calendar months, immediately preceding the month of incident & value of each such transaction to be >= Rs. 500 in each of the 3 months.
    Example: If the actual loss (Death / Permanent Total Disability of cardholder) is in the month of April, then there should be at least 1 POS transaction in each of the previous months of Jan, Feb & Mar and the value of each POS transaction in each of the 3 months has to be >/= Rs. 500.
  • • Additional to this, for Air Insurance the Flight ticket booked should be purchased by debiting Card holders IDFC FIRST Bank account.

What are the FIRST Select debit card benefits for Air Accident Insurance?

Get free Air Accident Insurance cover with the FIRST Select Debit Card. To redeem the Air Accident Insurance cover on debit card, customers need to meet the above mentioned eligibility.

Also note that the following terms & conditions will be applicable:

  • • In case customer holds multiple debit cards, claim will be extended on the highest eligible debit card (claim on any one debit card held by customer, subject to criteria being met)
  • • In case customer has multiple accounts with the bank linked to single debit card, the eligibility criteria need to be met on any 1 of the accounts held by the customer and not for a group/set of accounts

What are the features of Purchase Protection?

In case of fire/theft/burglary, the FIRST Private Debit Card offers purchase protection for up to 60 days from the date of purchase for transactions carried out at merchant outlets/online using the card.

What are the benefits of Fraudulent Cover?

i. Theft Of Funds (Unauthorized Digital Transactions): We will cover financial losses incurred by the account holder/ debit/virtual cardholder/digital wallets arising from any online frauds/unauthorised transactions.

ii Identity Theft: We will cover financial losses, credit monitoring costs, defence costs for legal proceedings, card replacement cost arising from the misuse of your personal information on the internet by a third party along with psychological consultation costs for the affected victim.

What are the features of trip cancellation cover?

The Insurer will indemnify the Insured Person for flight cancellation charges if the Insured Person cancels his trip before the onset of the trip due to any of the reasons covered in the T&C

What are the benefits of travel insurance cover?

Travel insurance covers:

  1. Loss of checked in baggage
  2. Delay of checked in baggage
  3. Delay in flight
  4. Missed connecting flight
  5. Loss of passport and travel related documents

What are the terms and conditions I need to know?

  • • Gross Negligence is not covered
  • • Any claim due to deliberate breach of law would not be payable
  • • Claim to be intimated to the Insurer within 60 days of the date of intimation about the fraudulent transaction to the Bank by the customer or the date of loss or date of incidence

What services are offered as breakdown support?

In the event Covered Vehicle breaks down due to a minor mechanical / electrical fault / accident and immediate repair on the spot is deemed possible within the scope of services, Global Assure shall assist Customer by arranging for a vehicle technician to reach the breakdown location. Global Assure will bear labor cost and conveyance costs. Cost of Material & Spare Parts if required to repair the vehicle on the spot and any other incidental conveyance to obtain such material & spare parts will be borne by the Customer.
